In this video, I show you how to use the SheepShaver emulator to install classic Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9 on your modern Windows computer. I have some experience with it and can try to answer any questions on the subject. Whatever the need or desire, or just for fun, OS Emulation is a useful tool. I also have need to convert files from older OS software, on occasion, as well. In my own experience I need older Mac operating systems to run software that is no longer supported, and to modify programs to the current OS while having access to the previous OS as a diagnostic. It should be said that keeping up with the latest in OS (for Mac, Windows or Linux) is the best way to go, but this is not always possible or necessarily desirable. The SheepShaver Scripts can be used to delete the prefs and nvram files to be able to start a new setup from scratch. For other than US English keyboard layouts a keycodes file is needed. I have it running Windows XP in OSX (Intel). If you set up SheepShaver for the first time, you will also need a compatible ROM file and a retail MacOS install CD (or an install CD disk image).
